Difference in Yoga and Tantra

"Osho on difference in Yoga and Tantra"
oshoteachings.blogspot.com, October 18, 2008
Question - What is the difference between Traditional Yoga and Tantra? Are they the same?

Osho - Tantra and yoga are basically different. They reach to the same goal; however, their paths are not only different, but contrary also. So this has to be understood very clearly.
The yoga process is also methodology; yoga is also technique. Yoga is not philosophy, just like
tantra – yoga depends on action, method, technique. Doing leads to being in yoga also, but the process is different. In yoga one has to fight; it is the path of the warrior.

On the path of tantra one does not have to fight at all. Rather, on the contrary, one has to indulge – but with awareness. Yoga is suppression with awareness; tantra is indulgence with awareness. Tantra says that whatsoever you are, the ultimate is not opposite to it. It is a growth; you can grow to be the ultimate.

There is no opposition between you and the reality. You are part of it, so no struggle, no conflict, no opposition to nature is needed. You have to use nature; you have to use whatsoever you are to go beyond. In yoga you have to fight with yourself to go beyond.

In yoga, the world and MOKSHA, liberation – you as you are and you as you can be – are two opposite things. Suppress, fight, dissolve that which you are so that you can attain that which you can be. Going beyond is a death in yoga. You must die for your real being to be born.

In the eyes of tantra, yoga is a deep suicide. You must kill your natural self – your body, your instincts, your desires, everything. Tantra says accept yourself as you are. It is a deep acceptance. Do not create a gap between you and the real, between the world and NIRVANA.

Do not create any gap. There is no gap for tantra; no death is needed. For your rebirth, no death is needed – rather, a transcendence. For this transcendence, use yourself.

For example, sex is there, the basic energy – the basic energy you are born through, born with. The basic cells of your being and of your body are sexual, so the human mind revolves around sex. For yoga you must fight with this energy.

Tantric Sex Tips

"Tantric Sex Tips n' Tricks for Lasting Lovemaking"
femaleorgasm.com-orgasm.us, November 12, 2008

Exercise One: Pressing the Prostate Point (PPP)

Okay, here's a bit of a male anatomy lesson. Between your testicles and anus is something called the perineum. There's a soft spot there through which you can apply pressure to your prostate. Now for most men, prostate stimulation reduces the likelihood of cumming involuntarily. This is because it washes out from the prostate gland the fluid that is necessary for ejaculation.

If you push hard enough on your prostate point right before cumming, it actually blocks the emission phase (or ejaculation phase). This exercise prevents seminal fluid from entering the urethral canal when your orgasmic spasms start. Even if you have orgasmic contractions, the semen remains inside your body and is re-absorbed. This is also known as having a Dry Orgasm and no, nit's not painful!

- Pleasure yourself till you begin to feel the tension that tells you you're on your way to coming.

- Stop all motion, locate your prostate point, and press upward firmly for 10 to 30 seconds. You should feel the sexual tension you were just feeing begin to ebb away.

- Now pleasure yourself again. This time, go a bit pass the tension you felt in Step 1.

- Stop all motion, locate your prostate point, and press upward firmly for 10 to 30 seconds. You should feel the sexual tension you were just feeing begin to ebb away.

- Now pleasure yourself again. This time, go a bit pass the tension you felt in Step 3.

- Locate your prostate point, and press upward firmly for 10 to 30 seconds. However, this time, try to continue stroking yourself as you do this.

- Continue doing this exercise till you master reaching higher sexual peaks and bringing yourself down again.

The Hevajra Tantra

8:19 PM Posted by 4 Freedoms Energy Sex in Conscious Relationship

"The Origin of the Hevajra Tantra"
sakyakunkhiabcholing.blogspot.com, July 23, 2008

"Shri Hevajra is a principal meditational deity of the Anuttarayoga classification of Buddhist Tantra. "Hevajra Tantra" was taught by Buddha Shakyamuni when He arose in the form of Shri Hevajra in the land of Madgadha at the time of destroying the four maras of defilements. The Tantra was requested by Vajragarbha and by the consort of Hevajra, Vajranairatmya. This root Tantra is known as "The Condensed Meaning of the Hevajra Tantra" which has 23 chapters and 750 verses. In this root Tantra, it has two parts that is known as "Two Sections" or "Two Examinations".

The Buddha had also taught "The Hevajra Tantra in 700,000 verses" and "The Hevajra Tantra in 500,000 verses". "Hevajra Tantra" has both exegetical tantras and supplementary tantras, such as "Vajra Tent Tantra" (Vajra Panjara Tantra), "Samputa Tantra", "Drop of Wisdom Tantra", "Drop of Great Seal Tantra" and "Lamp of Suchness, Great Yogini Tantra". From the numerous texts within the cycle of Hevajra, the root Tantra of "Two Sections" is the most important.

The Indian lineages of the Hevajra practices

In ancient India, there are many commentaries on the Hevajra Tantra. The important ones are written by 12 Indian masters, they are Vajragarbha, Naropa, Krishnacarin, Bhavapa, Tamkadasa, Padmapa, Dujayacandra, Shantipa, Samayavajra, Pad-myug, Kamadhenu and Dharmakirti. And there were six main commentarial traditions of the Hevajra Tantra which were handed down from the Indian Mahasiddhas. These are directly connected with the origin of Nine-fold Paths. They are the traditions of Saroruha, Durjayacandra, Northern Gate-Keeper Pandita Shantipa, Samantabhadra, Kashmiri Nyendrak Sangpo and Adipati Maitripa."

Tantric Female Sacrifice

8:28 PM Posted by 4 Freedoms Energy Sex in Conscious Relationship

"THE TANTRIC FEMALE SACRIFICE"
http://www.flameout.org/flameout/gurus/shadow/index.html

"Until now we have only examined the tantric scheme very broadly and abstractly. But we now wish to show concretely how the “transformation of erotic love into power” is carried out. We thus return to the starting point, the love-play between yogi and yogini, god and goddess, and first examine the various feminine typologies which the tantric master uses in his rituals. Vajrayana distinguishes three types of woman in all:

1. The “real woman” (karma mudra). She is a real human partner. According to tantric doctrine she belongs to the “realm of desire”.

2. The “imaginary woman” or “spirit woman” (inana mudra). She is summonsed by the yogi’s meditative imagination and only exists there or in his fantasy. The inana mudra is placed in the “realm of forms”.

3. The “inner woman” (maha mudra). She is the woman internalized via the tantric praxis, with no existence independent of the yogi. She is not even credited with the reality of an imagined form, therefore she counts as a figure from the “formless realm”.

All three types of woman are termed mudra. This word originally meant ‘seal’, ‘stamp’, or ‘letter of the alphabet’. It further indicated certain magical hand gestures and body postures, with which the yogi conducted, controlled and “sealed” the divine energies. This semantic richness has led to all manner of speculation. For example, we read that the tantric master “stamps” the phenomena of the world with happiness, and that as his companion helps him do this, she is known as mudra (‘stamp’). More concretely, the Maha Siddha Naropa refers to the fact that a tantric partner, in contrast to a normal woman, assists the guru in blocking his ejaculation during the sexual act, and as it were “seals” this, which is of major importance for the performance of the ritual. For this reason she is known as mudra, ‘seal’ (Naropa, 1994, p. 81). But the actual meaning probably lies in the following: in Vajrayana the feminine itself is “sealed”, that is, spellbound via a magic act, so that it is available to the tantric master in its entirety."

Tantra Taboo

7:48 PM Posted by 4 Freedoms Energy Sex in Conscious Relationship

"How tantra became a taboo?"
siddhashramnepal.blogspot.com, September 16, 2008

"What then happened in between that has made Tantra a taboo today ?

Perusal of the past reveals that after Gorakhnath pseudo gurus like Bhayanand started the misuse of Tantra and thus got introduced vile practices like meat eating, sex and money spinning into the system. These false Tantriks not just used these rather expounded that without them success is impossible in field of Tantra. These unconscientious one's even stooped so low as to resort to drinking, rape and swindling.

It was then but natural for the common man to keep distance from such practicers who were unfortunately more in number than real masters of Tantra. Soon society began to shun Tantra and a belief was generated that Tantra itself is a vile practice and has no useful applications in life.

But the problem was not with Tantra rather with the charlatans who used Tantra as an excuse to give vent to their beastly cravings. In fact Tantra is a science that can instill totality in life. A question may arise that when there are Mantras to procure divine blessings why do we need Tantra?"

Tantra Sex and Premature Ejaculation

7:26 PM Posted by 4 Freedoms Energy Sex in Conscious Relationship

"Tantra Sex Control For Better Penis Function"
www.articledashboard.com

"Tantra sex control allows better penis function. It does this by addressing the problem of premature ejaculation which many males experience. Premature ejaculation is having an orgasm quite suddenly after entering your female partner.

The quickness of orgasm is triggered by a number of factors. It all boils down to sexual excitement and is a combination of breathing, pulse rate, and blood pressure. The acceleration of all these components brings on ejaculation.

If the speeding up of these processes can lead to premature ejaculation then the slowing down can lead to better sex and longer lovemaking."

The Tantric Buddhism

12:36 AM Posted by 4 Freedoms Energy Sex in Conscious Relationship

"Introduction To Tantric Buddhism"
buddhism-eyes.blogspot.com, no date

"On the fringes of Indian civilization, in the unsettled areas, in the edges of the forest, and in the frightening and impure spaces in the cremation grounds on the edge of major cities, a new vision of Buddhist practice began to emerge. This vision eventually came to be known as Tantra.

The Tantric version of Buddhism brought about a profound change in Buddhist values. Tantric Buddhism began to emerge in India during the 6th century A.D. I use the word emerge because we don’t really know when it began. There are stories that trace back the tradition to the time of the Buddha, but it only emerged as a fully cultural phenomenon many centuries after the lifetime of the Buddha.

Tantra is really a pan-Indian phenomenon. It’s not just found in Buddhism, but also in Hinduism, and in other Indian religious traditions as Jainism. You can also find Islamic Tantra. It is a religious tradition that is found across the whole sweep of the Indian religious landscape."

SACRED QUICKIE

9:13 PM Posted by 4 Freedoms Energy Sex in Conscious Relationship

"THE SACRED QUICKIE" by Francesca Gentille
blogs.personallifemedia.com, November 4, 2008
"What’s the difference between a quickie and a sacred quickie?

A quickie can be fun. It is focused on in - out. Someone comes quickly. Usually the man. In the rush, both people can feel a bit disconnected. (*Unless it’s in those first few months of a new relationship OR a torrid affair).

A SACRED quickie takes a moment to:

  • Look into one another’s eyes with love as well as arousal
  • Engage in a time stopping kiss in which the lips barely meet and deep breaths of pheremones are exchanged. (NOTE: Just above the lips is a powerful generator of pheremones)
  • Melt into one another’s arms and limbs.
  • Let go and feel like swimming in a dream

Then the passion continues to rise, intercourse is included, and when anyone comes (or even if no one does) there is a feeling of fullfillment, ease, bliss and re-atunement with the universe."

Process and Benefits of Tantric Sex

9:27 PM Posted by 4 Freedoms Energy Sex in Conscious Relationship

"Introduction to Tantric Sex"
spiritualblog.com, November 4, 2008

Tantric sex places the focus first and foremost on bringing two people closer together. This involves developing an intimate connection that is somewhat different from what we often term 'intimate' when thinking of sex. I wrote about the reason developing a genuine connection is more important than using sex for negative gains in the the previous article I posted entitled "The Spiritual Guide to Better Sex".

Some of the process and benefits of tantric sex are:

Resonance Tuning: Tantric sex offers the rewards of building a sincere connection with another human being as a fundamental focus of making love. This connection is achieved through the process of "tuning" in to other people on a spiritual level instead of judging them according to the ego.

Raising The Kundalini: Once this resonance is established tantric sex can be used to raise the kundalini which enables an even deeper spiritual connection.

Breathing in Consciousness: Those who are able to practice tantric sex often realize that it is possible to make love with their partner without touching them at all. The process of practicing tantric sex is transcendental both in terms of self-awareness and awakening to higher consciousness. In the long term, tantric sex allows us to redefine how we are able connect and experience love on a number of levels.

Sex and Meditation

10:09 PM Posted by 4 Freedoms Energy Sex in Conscious Relationship

"Making love as a meditation"
www.oztantra.com

"Regular sex is widely believed to be an important part of maintaining good health and wellbeing through heart opening experience of intimacy and the stimulation of rejuvenating hormones.

However what we generally believe sex to be - a biological urge resulting in a brief encounter between two people, experiencing some physical closeness and/or the release of tension through orgasm, is an enjoyable but limited view.

In Tantra, sex is seen not just as an itch to scratch but as an opportunity to be as Gods & Goddesses trained in the arts of sexual love. To be able to experience true bliss in a place where our senses and hearts are open.

We feel fully alive - orgasm happens throughout the whole body rather than just in the genitals, our aloneness retreats, our consciousness expands and we experience being at one with love - which is our true nature."

Chakra Exercises

"Two Chakra Exercises For Beginners"
tantricyogatechniques.com, November 3, 2008

"There are many ways to stimulate and strengthen the chakras, they include the use of crystals, yoga, and meditation. In this article, i will address some basic methods that are great for people who are new to the Chakras.

One great exercise for balancing all seven of the chakras is to chant the bija mantras. Bija mantras are known as “seed” syllables. Each sound is related to a different chakra. Chanting all seven, will harmonize and bring balance to the entire chakra system.

Also, it is a great way to practice deep breathing. The bija mantras all rhyme with “Mom” except for “OM” (rhymes like home), and “All” (rhymes with call).

They are:

Lam
Vam
Ram
Yam
Ham
Om
All

It is important to chant these in the order listed."
